| The Lonnie Plaxico Group Bassist, composer, and producer Lonnie Plaxico is one of the most sought-after bassists on the scene today. Plaxico's musicianship is probably best expressed in his masterful integration of different forms - combining the rigorous technique of classical, the improvisation of jazz, and the rawness of funk into one exhilarating musical experience. He's enjoyed Grammy-winning collaborations with Art Blakey and Cassandra Wilson, where he served not only as the featured bassist - but also as musical director.
